Not to be confused with fellow alliteratively-titled Roguelite indie Switch release, Darkest Dungeon, Devious Dungeon casts the player as a burly warrior descending into a cursed dungeon to defeat a snarling dragon. Contrary to its name, Devious Dungeon is typified by bright colors and large, friendly shapes, but don’t let that fool you—it’s still a tricky melee-based action platformer that will do its utmost to kill the player with punishing blows. But death is not the end, and players are allowed to keep the riches they find and earn as they delve into the randomly-generated depths, outfitting the protagonist with new equipment and upgrades. Ported by Ratalaika Games, who are also responsible for console ports of the similarly-themed One More Dungeon, Devious Dungeon is now available on the Switch you can watch Andrew (@playcritically) play the first hour in the video below.
